Ramadan Goals 2014

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

In a few weeks the month of Ramadan will start. It's a very important month for Muslims in general but for me it will be my second Ramadan ever. Last year I didn't fast for the entire month because of personal reasons but this year I intent to fast as many days as I can.
Some things that are seen as very important during Ramadan are fasting of course, being with family, praying, reading Quran and charity.

During the last year I unfortunately lost some of my good habits, like praying every single prayer, but God willing I will be able to resuscitate the good habits I lost and maybe even get some new ones.

My goals for this year are
  • Pray all fard prayers
  • Read the entire Quran in the month of Ramadan
  • Fast every day I possibly can in the month of Ramadan
  • Pray sunnah prayers
  • Increase my Arabic language knowledge
  • Translate some of the shorter surahs of the Quran
  • Continue my in depth research of the Quran

As for reading Quran, I have set for myself the goal of 30 pages a day separate from my reading from the Quran after prayers. I intent to continue reading 10 pages of Quran after every prayer apart from the 30 pages of Quran every day. In sha Allah (God willing) I will reach this goal and be able to continue this plan after Ramadan.

May peace, mercy and blessings from Allah be upon you
